The Paluwa children home is a small orphanage in Bhaktapur, Nepal that we have been helping for the past two years. It was just by chance that we came upon this orphanage. We were looking for an organization to support and our good friend Raju Dhakal brought us along to visit this orphanage that he and his fellow Lions Club members support. We fell in love with the place, the children and the wonderful grandmother, mother and son trio who run the place.
There is so much love given to the ten children who reside here. You can feel it in the air, by the hugs given, by the meals prepared, by the smiles on the children faces. It has been two years since we asked for help to send these 10 orphans to school for two years and one year since the devastating earthquake that struck Nepal. Many of you graciously helped and the 10 children are thriving at their new school.
In June we were once again able to raise money as it is time once again to pay for their school fees for another two years as well as buy new school uniforms, stationary and books. The house in which the children lived was badly damaged in the earthquake, but I am pleased to report that with money raised by us as well as some people in the Netherlands, the house has been rebuilt and is getting close to being complete.
After wiring the money we had raised, this is the heartwarming response I got from Sanny.
Hi Liora how are you? I received the money today and firstly I did admission for the children and asked them what is their needs. All the children need new dress, shoes, books and all the stationery things. I do order for their dress and buy all the books and tomorrow I will buy them new shoes, shocks handkerchief new bags and all stationery things.
All children are very happy because of you. They said that they are so lucky to find you in their life. Some children also said that they don't know their real mother but they find you like their mother who take care of them more than their real mother.
And I am going to use some money for toilet there is no window so I put that and also fit pipes so we can use them.
